Jessica Salerno-Woodbury discovered her passion for Zumba Fitness more than 12 years ago. After years of enjoying classes and never wanting them to be canceled, she became a licensed ZIN™ (Zumba Instructor Network) instructor in 2024, earning certifications in both Zumba® and Zumba Kids & Kids Jr. Her goal was simple: to support the Waimea Zumba community by stepping in whenever local instructors needed a substitute. Since then, she has become the area’s dependable “go-to” substitute instructor, regularly assisting four Big Island Zumba teachers.
Beyond fitness, Jessica is an accomplished musician and educator. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in K–12 Music Education from Western Washington University and has been teaching music since 2003 in both public schools and her private studio, Salerno Strings. As a piano, violin, viola, and strings instructor, she has inspired generations of students through her passion for music and education.
Jessica is also a founding member of the Kamuela Philharmonic, where she performs as both a violinist and violist. Whether leading a Zumba class, teaching music, or performing on stage, she is dedicated to building community, inspiring others, and sharing the joy of movement and music.
