December 8, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

This 3 hour workshop explores the inherent strength and stability we all have. We will learn to get back to natural movements and experience what ‘core’ really means.
Understanding “Core” has been a tricky subject over the last 5 – 10 years in the yoga world. For a long time it has been thought of as the abdominal muscles, however, through understanding the body and its design, research has shown that working muscles and body parts in isolation isn’t really a smart system for a structure that is based in tensegrity (multidirectional support)
We have inherent strength and stability within our structure as moving human beings.
Our design is to move, travel on foot over long distances, climb trees, crawl on the ground and un-even surfaces. But we have lost that connection due to being in environments that are linear in structure for our safety.
What to expect
This workshop is about getting back to our natural movements, integrating the body as whole and playing with the power our ancestors used. You’ll learn to “gorilla”, be a “tiger”, and a “lizard”. We will play with lots of natural movement and find out what “core” really means and access an overall strength and relationship to stability that is useful in yoga or any other movement practice. This afternoon will be strong and fun at the same time.
All levels welcome!
